Elias Ramirez is the Director of Communications at NextGen Scholars for Change (NGSFC) and a first-generation Mexican American committed to expanding opportunities for young people across Texas. A two-time finalist for the Galveston Daily News Citizen of the Year (2024 & 2025),
He earned his bachelor's degree in Public Service Leadership from the University of Houston Clear-Lake and plans to pursue a law degree to deepen his work in policy and advocacy. He also serves as the Southern Program Coordinator at Young Invincibles and is an alum of the Texas PACE Student Advisory Council. Rooted in his hometown of Texas City, Elias chairs the Community Development Block Grant Citizens Advisory Committee and the Keep Texas City Beautiful Committee. He also serves as Board Treasurer for Lifeline of Galveston County, supporting animal welfare and safety-net programs for vulnerable animals. Elias is an active member of Mainland Toastmasters, the League of Women Voters of Galveston, and LULAC Council #255. He is the co-founder and President of the Hispanic Business Network of Galveston County, a 501(c)(6) business league dedicated to uplifting Hispanic-owned businesses and strengthening local economic development. He has also supported various political campaigns, specializing in voter-centered communication strategies.
